Those of you who know me know that Paso Robles is one of my favorite wine regions in the US, perhaps the world. We visited there a few years back and one of our favorite places we found was Halter Ranch. They make a variety of things from Grenache Blanc to Syrah and Caberet. However my favorite is their CDP (pretend Chateauneuf du Pape). Grenache with Syrah and Mourvedre and a touch of Tannat. It's a really deep ruby color. A nice black plum aroma with hints of vanilla. The taste mimics the arromas. A medium finish with hints of wood. AWS 3/5/5/2/1.5 = 16.5/20 Don't recall the price but I get it from their wine club and figure mid $20's.
